Today in
class we talked about the last three religions that we were not able to cover
in class yesterday. The three religions that we talked about today was
Hinduism, Buddhism, and Judaism. We basically went over the same type of
categories as we did in the first two religions but obviously used these
religions instead. Some of the things we talked about was the number of
adherents which is basically just the number of people in that religion. We
also talked about their founder (if they had one), what people call them, and
what their holy book. One thing that I thought was interesting was Hinduism did
not have a distinct founder which I thought was strange because someone has to
discover something it just doesn’t magically appear. Something else that I
found interesting was the number of adherents for Judaism was one of the
smallest ones. We thought that correct because do to the holocaust and if that
event didn’t occur then the population would have been bigger because all those
kids in the holocaust would of reproduce and the cycle would have kept going.
Overall, todays class was very interesting.
