Archimedes-
Studied at Alexandria that estimated the value of pi and the law of the lever
colossus
of Rhodes- the statue of the Greek sun- god Helios erected in the city of
Rhodes
- It made
it so that it became and international community, so it had a rich mixture
of customs and traditions
- The
astronomers, Eratosthenes and Aristarchus, used his geometry text that we
still use today
- They
both promote having social unity
In
class today we read pages 146-140 in the textbook which was pretty easy because
it was only 3 pages which is not bad at all. Other than that, today it is
really nice out and I have practice today which hopefully won’t be too bad.
